Preserving America Grant Program
The Gadsden Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution was recently awarded the Preserving America Grant Program, for $5000 from the Americana Corner! Our vision is to create a “Speakers Bureau” and traveling trunk of American Revolution artifacts for schools and continue our outreach to the local community and organizations! SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION
LAS CRUCES., NM. On February 20, 2024, members of the Gadsden Chapter of Sons of American Revolution presented a brief history of the American Revolution to the fourth grade classes at Mesilla Valley Christian School. This presentation was in honor of George Washington’s Birthday. Participants of the presentation were: Robert Vance-Chapter and State President of SAR, Tanner Guskey, 2nd Vice President, Harry Murray- direct descendent of William Washington, a cousin of George Washington, and TJ Vallejos, 1st Vice President.
The students enjoyed hearing stories about the American Revolution.

Officer Hernandez Donation
The Sons of the American Revolution Gadsden Chapter presented a check by Don Williams to the Officer Hernandez Donation Fund regarding fallen Officer Jonah Hernandez on February 16th, 2024.
Veterans Transitional Housing BBQ
The Sons of the American Revolution Gadsden Chapter barbequed for the residents of the Veterans Transitional Housing on 3350 Oak St, on February 10th, 2024! Despite the snow and rain, we put a smile on the Veteran’s faces!
Wreaths Across America
The Sons of the American Revolution Gadsden Chapter Color Guard was on hand to welcome visitors as they placed wreaths at the Fort Bayer National Cemetery on December 16th. President Robert Vance presented wreaths to the various military branches.
Veterans Day Parade 2023
The Sons of the American Revolution Gadsden Chapter Color Guard marched in the Las Cruces Veterans Day Parade and led the second half of the parade.
